Sunburst Shutters was established in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who thought they could make a better shutter than any other on the market.

The objective to be the best shutter company has turned every aspect of the window treatment business on its head. Sunburst offered an in-home consultation where design experts brought samples into a customer’s house to guide them in selecting the best window treatment product. In addition, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were respectful and friendly – and, at the same time, experienced and helpful. Homeowners across the US quickly fell in love with Sunburst Shutters.

In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters introduced customers to a more durable and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

Initially, the company offered wood shutters solely. But it was instantly obvious that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you bought it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst revealed its Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the premium shutters in the industry, they grew considerably, opening locations across the country. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters expanded its collection into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.

Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-made and professionally installed. With more than 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is the ultimate source of window treatment products in in the US.

Bringing Custom Window Treatments to Baltimore

In 2023, Sunburst spread its services to Baltimore so that Marylanders could get the chance to experience the quality and charm of plantation shutters.
